Why does LifeMask ™ have a 3 year expiration date?

After rigorous testing in China, the filtering ingredients’ viscosity was found to diminish slightly after five years. At which point it was determined a shelf life of three and a half to four years was necessary. We at LifeMask ™ didn’t wish to allow any misunderstanding due to these tolerances and determined the shelf life to be three (3) years. Hence our expiration date.

Why did we decide to make LifeMask ™ ?

As parents, concerned citizens, and after discussions with members of the fire department, we determined there was a disparaging gap in fire evacuation procedures in many areas including industrial and commercial buildings, high-rises, hotels, ships, and in densely populated areas such as schools, train stations, airports and many public and government buildings. With this in mind we came up with LifeMask ™, providing valuable minutes to reach safety. Our product is a much needed, practical and financially viable solution to an extremely outdated escape procedure, which can direct you to put a wet towel over your face and crawl along the floor and wait to be rescued. LIFEMASK ™ IS THE SOLUTION. We are proud to offer it.

Does LifeMask ™ only protect you from fire emergencies?

Not only does LifeMask ™ protect you from fire emergencies, but also for all sorts of emergencies such as chemical spills, anthrax, chemical warfare, and incidents resulting from earthquakes. These situations are unfortunately all too frequent; March 11, 2011 a 9.0 earthquake followed by a tsunami hit northern Japan killing over 26,000 people. February 22, 2011 a 6.3 earthquake hit Christchurch in New Zealand causing widespread damage and fatalities.

According to data provided to the United States Environmental Protection Agency (E.P.A.) by USA TODAY’s Smokestack Effect research, it showed how bad the air quality was in schools across the country. Pointing fingers at industrial polluters in these areas and providing the approximate percentage of chemicals and cancer causing agents present in the air. While many of these companies take every precaution to maintain air quality. They will all agree that an accident is inevitable due to the nature of their business. LifeMask ™ protects against hydrogen cyanide, hydrogen chloride, and phosgene, which are very harmful chemicals along with many other potentially life threatening substances.

How are LifeMask ™ 30, LifeMask ™ 40, and LifeMask ™ 60 different?

The design, shape and size of the mask are all the same, the only differences between the masks are the amount of minutes provided. LifeMask ™ 30 will give you 30 minutes of filtered air (best for: ground floor- restaurants, movie theatres, most schools, and single family dwellings), LifeMask ™ 40 will give you 40 minutes of filtered air (best for: densely populated areas- shopping center, airports train station, and bus station) and finally LifeMask ™ 60 will give you 60 minutes of filtered air (multiple floors/extended time: forensic investigation, high-rises, hotels). 30 minutes should be sufficient amount of time to escape most emergencies. However we offer masks with the capability of providing filtered air for up to an hour for events such as emergencies in high-rises and investigations by forensic teams.

The location of storage and length of the time needed should be considered when determining which mask is best suited for your use.

Does my filtered air time decrease if I’m breathing heavily?

No. LifeMask ™ was tested under exertive breathing conditions; therefore it will maintain the time given for the usage of the mask.
